Strictly necessary

These make the site and dashboard work. They cannot be switched off, and we set them without asking consent because the service cannot function without them.

• Session token: keeps you signed in. Expires when you sign out, or after 30 days of inactivity.
• CSRF token: protects form submissions. Session only.
• Load balancing cookie: routes you to a healthy server. Session only.
• Cookie choices: remembers this banner's answer for 12 months.
• Chosen plan: when you click Get started on a plan, remembers which one so the sign-up form knows. 30 days.

Analytics

These help us understand which features get used so we can prioritise work. They are set only if you accept, and we configure them to anonymise IP addresses.

• Product analytics: aggregated page and feature usage. 13 months.
• Performance monitoring: page load timings and error traces. 90 days.

Marketing

We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on birsend.com. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent before setting them.

Live chat

The chat bubble in the corner of every page is provided by Crisp, a third party. It loads with the page rather than waiting for you to click it, so that help is visible when you need it — which means Crisp is running, and storing the identifier below, from your first page view.

That identifier is what lets a reply reach the same conversation when you come back or reload. Clearing your browser storage unlinks it, and the chat starts fresh next time.

• Crisp session identifier: ties your messages to one conversation. Set on your first visit, and it survives a reload.

Managing your choices

• Use the cookie settings link in the footer to change your answer at any time.
• Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings.
• Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in.
